Dr Nicholas Caron

Dr. Nicholas Caron has dedicated over 15 years to Huntington disease (HD) research. His primary research interests focus on therapeutic development and discovery of molecular biomarkers for HD, which offer the potential to monitor pathophysiological alterations in the diseased brain. He earned his PhD under Dr. Ray Truant in the Department of Biochemistry and Biomedical Science at McMaster University before joining Dr. Michael Hayden’s lab in 2014 as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Medical Genetics at the University of British Columbia. Currently a research associate in Dr. Hayden’s group, supported by the HDSA Human Biology Fellowship, Dr. Caron also leads preclinical therapeutic development at the Vancouver-based biotech company Incisive Genetics.
